If it is a screensaver and is troublesome only when activated, all you need
to do is change the screensaver setting. Right click on the background and
select "properties", then click on the screen saver tab. There you can
change the screen saver from the troublesome reindeer to some other one, or
turn it off altogether.

To get rid of the screen saver completely, you would need to delete the
screen saver file. You need to know the name and location of the file -
usually they end up in the WINDOWS/system32 folder and have an extension of
.scr

I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP2 and it seems I foolishly downloaded
a cute Reindeer Screen Saver.  I saved to "My Downloads".  It seems to do
weird things - cannot stop it by moving my mouse, at times.  All I can do is
"Ctrl-Alt-Delete", but it takes my "start taskbar" at the bottom away and no
way to shut down except turn off improperly.  I've gone to my "Add and
Remove Programs" but can't find it there.

HOW can I delete it permanently?   Sure do get alot of good advice from
PCSOFT!
