It actually originated as a demonstration of 32-bit coding for
Windows NT 3.x (3.51?). I recall that there was some surprise when
a 16-bit version of the game appeared on the Win95 CD -- apparently
this was the easiest way to make it share CARDS.DLL with Solitaire
and Hearts. (It was Hearts, with it's network play, that came out
with WfWG.)
