Re: the benefits of using Clean System Directory.
I've been using Kevin Solway's "Clean System Directory" for many, many
months now. The author suggests keeping the moved .dll files in the
\windows\system\bkupdll directory for some weeks as a safety precaution.
Windows certainly doesn't load these files at bootup time, but they do
occupy hard disk space.
I haven't as yet needed to move back the moved .dll files for any
application. And I periodically delete all of them.
The basic gain is in saving hard disk space, and in the reduction of
bloating of the \windows directory. Which IMO does help towards a bit more
efficiency of the functioning of Windows.
