Subject: [PCSOFT] freeing up space
PCSOFT Digest - 13 Nov 2007 to 15 Nov 2007 (#2007-271)
I have a pc running XPsp2 with the hard drive partitioned in C (28 Gb size) and D (130Gb size).
<SNIP>
I'd like to transfer as much as possible to the larger D.
Can anyone help?
TIA,

Laurence,
Before moving any of your files from C:\ to D:\ , I'd recommend deleting any and all unnecessary files that currently reside on C:\ . What files to delete, you ask? Not to worry as there's a marvelous freeware/donationware utility available that's will do the hard work and thinking for you, and all in a matter of seconds. The utility's called CCleaner and, if you haven't already done so, I'd recommend installing and running the latest version of the program. You might well be amazed by the amount of 'garbage' it'll find on your hard drive.
The program's used by millions of PC enthusiasts worldwide and is safe, thorough, and effective.
Also please note: if your installtion is stable and up-to-date, please tick the box that tells CCleaner to remove all Windows' 'Hotfix Uninstallers'; if you've never done so before, cleaning up the unneeded 'Hotfix Uninstallers' will likely free up a gigabyte or more precious space on your C: drive.
Here are a few links to the program:
