Dolores,
I hung on to IE5.1 (or was it .01?) for quite a while after 5.5 came out.
My thought was that if it wasn't broke, which it wasn't, don't fix it.
Sometime later, however, it got "broke" so I gave in and
downloaded/installed 5.5. Thank the Lord I've had basically no problems
with it. It sounds like you're in the same situation. Although it may very
well give you more problems than the existing ones, it may also cure you of
the "IE Blues."
Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm for the download.
Hth.
Brian

Subject: [PCSOFT] IE 5 help
My problem with Microsoft IE5 is that it keeps locking up or just
disappearing. I've done the repair but it does not seem to help. I have
Windows 98 PC. I also have a problem with printing. When I try to print it
will print two pages - one is always blank. I would like to remove IE5 and
download a new copy. Will this help? Where do i get a new copy of IE5?
thanks,
dolores dewbury
