Make a shortcut on your desktop as follows:
o Right click on the Desktop and choose "New" then "Shortcut"
o In the Properties entry, type the following exactly as shown . . .
C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL32.EXE shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 1
There are only two spaces to insert: One after the RUNDLL32.EXE entry and
one before the final character (the number 1)
If you wish, you can also activate a keyboard shortcut. I use the control
and Alt keys along with an "E" signifying exit action.
Now when you want to shutdown the computer, click on the Desktop shortcut or
press the <Ctrl><Alt><E> keys all together.
