If the print head is blocked with dried ink, there is no way you can solve the problem by adding a liquid or more colour. If the print head as not seen any activity for a while, it will be cause the ink has dried at its outlet. The instructions I posted in a previous email is the one used by PC repair shops. That is how I came to know what to do.

  You might try to inject some liquid (I don't know what) into the dried up cartridge, or buy a "refilled" 2nd hand color cartridge.

  One other thing about HP.  They will send you (from their website) a postage pre-paid bag to recycle their cartridges and also give you a little money (buck or two) for the old cartridge.
