Can someone explain exactly what the "BackWeb" program is?  I've read all the ReadMe Notes, Help, etc. and still do not understand.

Is this a program I can safely remove from my home computer?  I think it is what is keeping me from running ScanDisk because I can't disable it.  The BackWeb help says that to disable it to right click on the BackWeb icon in the windows tray.  There is not a backweb icon on the tray.
