Hope you can help me - first this is what I am using: 

Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 2, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz, 2.99 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.

 I am using Outlook Express and for the past week have been having the problem of OE giving me this message: "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close. "And close it does.  It does not matter if I am in the middle of writing an email, reading an email or not even in OE.  I ran a defrag of the system, ran RegCure to clean out the registry and still experience the same problem.  It usually happens about 10 minutes after I open it.  I went to the events list log to see if I could find anything that might help.  Only find it is an Error Event of 1000 - but can't get any further.  

BTW - I use auto updates for Windows so that should not be a problem but went there anyway and found Service Pack 3 was available for a download. So last night I tried to install the update and when I do it comes back that the install failed.  Could these two problems be related? Should I just forget about installing Service Pack 3 for now and try that later?
