Sounds like a variation of an old trick used by some sites to fool you into
thinking that they are able to exploit "security holes" in your system and
that you should spend xxx dollars in purchasing their whiz-bang safety screen.

All the page is doing is directing your computer to read its own hard
drive--in all probability nothing's going anywhere and no harm done.
