Greetings Folks,
My service provider here in South Africa has upgraded their systems and have
informed their users that they no longer support older dial-up / logon
programs.
My problem is this:
I gave my Son (15) my old Compaq laptop to use in school. This is a 486
running Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and all he uses it for is to do homework
and check his e-Mail. (My Son is in a boarding school 125 miles from home,
so it is important for us to keep in touch via e-Mail).
This laptop used to logon to our service provider using Winsock but can no
longer logon with this program.
Is there a dial-up / logon program that I can download which will work with
Windows for Workgroups? I have looked on c¦net and winfiles.com but I am
not getting anywhere.
I thought of changing the operating system to Win95 but as this laptop does
not have a CD Rom drive this will be a bit difficult plus it will probably
be very slow running Win95.
Your suggestions will be appreciated.
Kind regards,
Errol Lishman
