Hi Everick,

This is easy (and quick) to do. Hold the Windows key down (the one with the
Windows flag) and press the "Pause/Break" key. When the System Properties
window appears, click on the "Automatic Updates" tab. There you can disable
automatic updates and manually get them from the Windows Update site or, if
you choose, XP offers three choices as to when and how the updates are
downloaded and installed. Simply make your choice and click the "OK" button
at the bottom.

The suggestions about the Black Viper Web site are good ones. However, for
the average computer user, it's going a little "deep" and problems are more
likely to arise elsewhere. I would suggest that a 'novice' user forget about
it. Anyone else should be familiar with what they are doing and take time to
study it carefully.

A Merry Christmas to ALL !!!

Ya'll Come!!

Hi

I am using WinXP PRO and I would like to control the update process.

Can I configure winXP to only download the update when I want it to and not
automatically?

If so please send details.
