Hello Lynn,

While you can use a left click drag to move a file from Point A to Point B
on the same drive, the Windows default action is to "copy" the file from
drive to drive. I think the easiest way to accomplish what you want is to
open Windows Explorer and customize the Toolbar at the top (the one with the
icons) so that it displays the "Copy To" and "Move To" options. Right click
the toolbar and select "Customize...". Then select the file(s) you want to
move, click the "Move To" icon and in the window that appears navigate to,
and select, the destination drive or location and click the "Move" button.
If needed, the window has an option to create a new folder. The copy and
move options are also available on the "File" and "Edit" menu.

You may find it convenient at times to right click and drag to another
location. When you release the right click at the new location, you will be
presented with a pop up menu with all available options. The Windows default
action will be in bold type.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Tweaks for XP

Didn't there used to be a tweak in Win95 where you could move a file instead
of using the send to. What I'm looking for is some shortcut that would move
a file from C drive to F drive and not just copy it to F. I don't want to
have to delete stuff after I've used the move command.

I'm running WinXP on a Gateway.

thanks
Lynn Kucera
