Several months ago I switched computers. My old computer had MS 95 OS and my new computer has MS ME. MS Office 97 Professional Edition is loaded on both computers (from disk). Each computer came with MS Works already installed. My old computer has a rather vast TrueType font selection whereas my new computer has a limited selection. I do not know if this difference is due to what came pre-installed on each computer or how I loaded MS Office on to each one, although I think it has to do with what was pre-installed on the computers. I would like to have the same selection of TrueType fonts on my new computer as I do on my old one. I've tried numerous things to copy and move these files, all without success. The files I am referring to are not fonts that I downloaded from anywhere, but standard versions that were already on my old computer. There are at least 30 or more font files that I want from the old computer. I do not have my two computers linked, nor do I plan to do so. How can I best achieve getting these font files from my old computer to my new one? Or is there a site where I can download standard TrueType fonts without charge? I already perused the MS site, but their downloadable TrueType font selection is extremely limited. Your help with this dilemma would be greatly appreciated.
