Hi Tom,

I have been able to access scandisk in Windows XP this way:

Click on Start and then "My Computer")

Right click on your C: drive and click on "Properties."

Left click on the "Tools" tab.

Scandisk is the top tool called "Error Checking Status" and Defrag is
the bottom tool.

Have heard that Win XP does a good job maintaining the system and add on
programs are not needed. However I can not find ScanDisk, or something
similar, on Win XP. All comments welcome.
