Have you tried emptying the cache? Maybe it is stuck scanning a corrupt
file and it is sticking the scan at that point. I would try that as a
simple first step.
1) On the menu bar at the top of your screen, select *TOOLS*, click on *
OPTIONS* from the pull down menu.
2) First click on the *ADVANCED* icon and then click on the *NETWORK* tab.
3) Click the *CLEAR NOW* button to delete the files currently stored in the
cache.
4) Finally, click the *OK* button
