FAT32 and 32 bit software have nothing in common or relate to each other in
any way. Sounds like you may be getting free computer consulting from a
discount sales store. At least those are the kind of things I have heard to
many times at them. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Simple explanation. FAT32 uses smaller clusters (so there are more clusters
per same size hard drive) so less "slack" or wasted space is encountered
since if the information is less than the size of the cluster, it still must
use the whole cluster. However, because it makes the "Table of contents
larger" i.e. the location of information in each cluster, it is
theoretically slower to access all the data (time to look up all the
locations for the information in the FAT). However, that said, I have not
experienced any slow down or have every seen any real time benches showing
any effect.

32 Bit Vs. 16 bit software in layman's terms would be how many "phone lines"
the software uses to talk to the CPU. If it can send information over 32
phone lines Vs 16 to the CPU, it takes half the time for the CPU to get the
instruction/data of what to do next. Now that O/S like Win9x can open 32
phone lines, i.e it is a 32 bit O/S (or at least in part) to the CPU and
CPUs have at least 32 phone lines available (after the 386...enhance the
reason Win9x needs at least a 386 to run.), 32 bit programs are
theoretically faster. I say theoretically because, as usual, as the theory
goes, give a person more time to do something and he/she will fill up the
time, e.g. most new 32 bit program developers have taken the additional
speed available and filled it up with more overhead which they pass off as
features (which may or may not be) and/or sloppy programming. So in fact, my
experience has been that some old 16 bit programs are faster than their
newer 32 bit program (or course without those much desire <G> features.)
