I recommend you download and install the free viewer irfanview from
http://www.irfanview.com
Run the program and go through the menu points options - properties -
extensions.
Then select "images only" and all your graphic files will be associated
with the best and fastest viewer in town.
I do this all the time whenever something steals my associations. Quicktime
is bad, right, but browsers and other viewers do it too.
