Hi Herb,
If I remember correctly, I solved that problem by contacting Acrobat. They
told me to print the document as a graphic file instead of a word file.
Somewhere in the print options you'll find "Print as" or something like that
(sorry, it's been a long time since I used it).
Once I chose the print as graphic option, my pdf document printed just fine.
