In Internet Explorer go to Tools/internet options and then advanced. There
is an option to show IE on the desktop. If it is already checked. Uncheck
it, click ok. Go back in and check it again.

that happened? I replaced it with a shortcut but it is not the same as the
original, for instance, when you right click it it doesn't show the internet
properties like it used to just general and shortcut. Thanks for the help!
Using windows98 and I.E.5.
