You can do what you are trying to do in at least two possible ways:

1. Go into your CMOS settings and see if it allows you to set a password at boot up. There are ways
around this, but they take some research to find out how.

2. Learn how to setup a system policy in Windows 98. If you have the Windows 98 installation CD,
find the Resource Kit help files and read the section on system policies. Hope this helps.

For anyone else, this also applies to Win95.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Security software

Does anyone know of some software that would not allow use of a computer without
a password? Since Windows 98 only protects profiles and not the use of the programs,
it is not adequate for our needs. We need something that will not allow unauthorized
use of the computer.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Diana
