There are many free media players with many more options than the very
basic Windows MediaPlayer.
Try VLC, Gom, or JetAudio. All are much more fully-optioned than WMP and
will play most normal movie formats. Google will turn up many download
locations for them.
Gom Player is arguably the most versatile.
I'm not sure about the .flv format. From memory, I think this may be for
Flash movies, for which you'll need Adobe Macromedia Flash Player. It's
downloadable from Adobe's site.
