Hi, I am using Word as my Outlook email editor with out any problems. It
is just that Outlook is banning the .doc extension. The contents are
visible in the reader pane but cannot be opened or saved to disk. I get
a message "object not found ". There must be a way of making Outlook
accept this extension.

Thanks,
Alan Priol

Hi Alan,

I can't understand your problem. I'm using Outlook since Outlook 95, and
I
never run into this problem. I'm using Outlook Xp right now.
If you can't read those e-mail with files containing .doc extension, you
don't have word installed on your system, or maybe your word is not
working
too well.
Pretty strange problem Alan.

I have received several emails containing files with a .doc extension on
Outlook XP. These files have been made unreadable by Outlook with
(object not found) message. Using Outlook express to obtain the files
and then forwarding them me via Outlook XP makes them usable. How can I
make Outlook XP receive them with extensions intact?
