Most Internet providers have rules against giving your user name and
password to other users. You could lose your account if you are caught
doing this.
Also, if two people attempt to use the same email account, every time one
person gets mail from the mail server, he will get all the mail and the
other person will not see it. The only way to prevent this is to leave the
mail on the server and delete it manually instead of letting the server
delete it after you receive it, which is the default for most mail readers
where you download the messages to your computer. Because of these
problems, it is impractical to try sharing an email account. There are
many places to get free email accounts - Juno, Hotmail,Yahoo. Most of
these are Web-based and you must have access to the Internet to use them.
Juno can be used by anyone with a modem with no need for Internet access.
And of course there are still Bulletin Board systems available which are
open to the public for free.
