I have just purchased an HP ScanJet 4300 Cse and am quite happy with it
overall. I am using it under Win2000 Pro, USB.

The one place I am a bit disappointed is in the quality of the built-in OCR
software. While it is very good for pretty routine text, it does not seem to
do things like columns or other formatted text, etc. I can bring columned
text in as a graphic just fine, but then of course I cannot edit the text in
Word, for example.

Can anyone recommend a good OCR package that is more full-featured, that
will handle more complex text patterns etc, but that will be 100% compatible
with my new scanner and run fine under Win2k?

Many thanks.

Michael
