If only the OS is corrupted causing it to be unbootable, then either boot
the system using a boot diskette or place the drive in another computer as a
secondary drive. Then rummage about the drive and copy the data off of it
to another drive/disk.
Your results may vary and difficulties may arise depending on the
physical condition of the drive, the condition of the file system, and the
type of file system (FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc.).

i have a friend that his hard drive went out and he needs the info off it.
is there a porg.out there to recover this info. the drive gets to the screen
were it want u to pick ether safe mode or com.prompt.mode. but it frezes
there can i recovery this info or not ??any help would be great thanks in
