One thing that I would recommend is that you create a directory called TEMP using
Windows Explorer (New.. folder.. TEMP).
Then I would recommend that you edit your autoexec.bat file (you can do this by right
mouse clicking the file from explorer) and add the following two lines to it. SET
TEMP=C:\TEMP and SET TMP=C:\TEMP
These entries will put temp files into your C:\Temp directory.. not windows. Then you
have one place to remove temp files from, without fear of them (or you) clobbering
things from your Windows folder.
Don't sweat the ones that won't delete when you delete a mess of them. They're in use
at that moment in time. If you really want to remove those, go into DOS mode and then
delete them like in the following examples: del c:\temp\*.tmp or del
c:\temp\*.*
All gone..
