Jim,
I would try starting the computer using your boot disk in drive A:\ and, once at the command prompt,
type scanreg/restore. ( I think you can do it from the A:\ prompt, but you might need to type C: and
then hit enter to run it from C:\ ). This will bring you to your saved registry copies, from which
you can try to load an earlier 'known good' registry copy. Choose one that was 'started', but with a
date BEFORE you started tinkering. Windows 98 automatically saves 5 copies - hopefully one of them
will restore your missing files. hth

Subject: [PCSOFT] Register Cleaner Problem
Hello Listers:
After reading all the positive things about a program "Reg Cleaner" I tried it out, cleaned
registry, rebooted OK, cleaned unnecessary files, rebooted, OK,
deleted some duplicate files, rebooted, problems start,
Upon restarting, the computer goes to the screen that list's all of the specifications, Bios, ram
etc, of the computer.
In that list I get an "02B0 Diskette Drive A error", Press Esc to resume, After pressing, Esc I get
an "Invalid system disk" Replace Disk and then any key.
I happened to have my old hard drive which was functioning when I replaced it, installed it and
rebooted I still get the same screen, except when I press any key the computer continues to load
windows which is how I am making this plea for help.
System
Pheonix Bios
Intel 333, 192 Megs Ram, Windows 98 SE OutLook Express 6.0
It was working OK before, I should have known better got up early and got bored!!!
Thanks for any help
