On my PC running W98, as I add programs they seem to appear at the bottom of
the start menu. I'm referring to the Start -> Programs pop up menu. They
are not all arranged in alphabetical order but the ones at the bottom of the
list seem to be in the order in which I added the new programs. I would
like to have them arranged in alphabetical order.

Using Explorer, I went into Windows -> Start Menu it contained a main folder
(Programs) and as I expected, several other programs that appear above
Programs when I select the Start menu. Then in Explorer, I opened Windows
-> Start Menu -> Programs and saw a list of programs that I had installed.
The surprise was that not all the programs that appear on my Start ->
Programs list were shown! There are many programs which I installed, that
are on the Start -> Programs menu that do not appear in the Explorer
listing. They appear to be the programs that I want to alphabetize. What's
happening and how can I list the programs in order?
