Ken,
You can have Outlook Express (OE) reply with a message by using the "Mail
Rules" option. First, create the reply you want to send using a new e-mail
or any text document (OE will send it as an attachment). Then save it
(unaddressed if using e-mail) to My Documents (or where ever you want). Go
to Tools\Message Rules\Mail. If you haven't used this feature before it will
open ready for the first rule. If you have rules in effect, select "New."
For item #1, you'll probably want the first option listed, "Where the from
line contains people."
Item #2, select "Reply with message."
In Item #3, click on the hyperlink "contains people" and in the pop up
window enter exactly (case sensitive) what appears in their e-mail from line
for each person you want the reply to go to. Click "Add" for each entry,
then "OK" when done. Next, click the "message" link and browse to where you
saved your reply and select it.
On the way out, click: "OK," "Apply Now," "Apply Now," "OK" (to pop up
window), "Close," and "OK."

I think there is a way to notify people who send e-mail
to an OUTLOOK EXPRESS user, that the user is either on
vacation or not available for a period of time. Can anyone
tell me how that is done? Thanks, Ken
