Marilyn, I tried this app for a while a couple of years back, so I'm not up to speed on the latest version - maybe someone else can help.
But I would think that the prog has only listed these files that it thinks are orphans, and you should have the option of not proceeding with the deletion. I'd also expect it to provide a facility to back up any files it offers to delete, so have a look at it's options.
Uninstalling the program should be quite safe, if that's what you want to do.
I must agree that 1500 files seems an excessive number of spare files.
