You need a 32bit spell checker with Outlook Express.  The version must be an
older one with a 16bit checker.

Outlook express is installed as a part of IE 4.0 and works well except for
the Spell Checker. I understand that it will use any spell checker that is a
part of another Microsoft application. Microsoft works was already installed
and functional at the time IE was installed, but its spell checker is not
available in Outlook Express. The Spell Checker is gray on the Tool Menu and
will not highlight under any set of circumstances.

Any advise to how it activate the Spell Checker?
