The best way in my opinion is to use a program like Partition Magic which
allows you to partition your hard drive without affecting your data.
Size of the drive is purely a personal decision. Some people prefer to just
split it down the middle, some people will break it down to 2 or 3 gigs for
the OS's, then add more partitions for programs, data, and even seperate
partitions for their swap files. Its all up to you.
