Very sorry about the confusion, Minh and list--

It is very understandable, as well. The last "stage" of converting a .doc to a .pdf (while you are using MSWord) involves the Acrobat application opening to display the 'finished work'. The tool button with a picture resembling chain links (on my computer) is visible in the Adobe Acrobat window. On my installation (version 4.05, patched to 4.2?), this tool bar is along the left
side of the Acrobat window, about 2/3 of the way down. Once you click on it,
the cursor changes from Adobe's little hand to a plus sign which you drag across the word, phrase, or graphic you want to link--similar to the concept of image mapping, which many web sites employ. Once you've selected the 'area', a dialog box is displayed where you can specify a visible or invisible hyperlink and different types of highlighting. The center portion of the dialog is where you specify what action the link is supposed to trigger. The list includes "Execute Menu Item", "Go to View", "Import Form Data", "JavaScript", "Movie", "Open File", "Read Article", "Reset Form", "Show/Hide Field", "Sound", "Submit form", "World Wide Web Link", and "None". If you choose to link to a web page, I've found it works best to include the entire URL when you input the link information (complete path). The last step, in this case, is to click on the button labeled "Set Link".

To recap...The toolbar with the link tool is part of Acrobat. Acrobat appears by default (at least in my installation) to show the converted Word document, and this is where adjustments can be made to hyperlinks.

I hope this clears up the confusion.
