Marjorie,
I vaguely remember this was a system file you were told to delete, if so;
I suggest you go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information
there click on tools and select system file checker.
Run the program and if a system file is missing or corrupted it will ask to reinstall it.
Have your Windows 98 CD at hand as it will be asked for.
