Thanks for your answer.  Guess I should have told you that I do have the
boxes for both sound & animation checked in options.

This machine is a 350MHz w/ 128 Ram - I found that when working a word
document off of a floppy, the cursors work perfectly [but sounds don't] so I
think the speed is too fast for the cursors [they disappear quickly].

I would really like to get those sounds back in Word 97.
