I have an IBM Thinkpad with Window XP that I bought second hand and has an
"open office.org 2.2" writing program in it. No original CDs came with the
laptop. When I open or close the program it goes thru a sequence of screens
flashings that takes about 10 to 15 seconds. It does the same dance when I
open an existing file. With "Word" I get an immediate response.
Unfortunately I lost "Office 2000", a delete accident. Thank you for your
