Exactly.  It took a second call to AT&T after three calls to DLink for the wi-fi router.  Apparently a power glitch caused the modem and the router to not communicate correctly.  I would get 403.1 errors and security errors.  AT&T DSL no longer recognized my username and password.  I had a great wireless connection but no gateway to the net.  The first AT&T guy had me hardwire to the modem and everything worked.  When I hardwired modem to router it wouldn't.  DLink tried with different IP addresses, unplugging modem and router, and replugging etc.  Eventually I couldn't access the net via hardwire.  DLink finally concluded the router was failed and should be returned.  (They told me that during initial setup too, lol)

It goes something like this: I had to disconnect the DSL modem and reset it via the 60 second button.  Unplugging it won't always do it.  I had to then log on with a temporary password provided by AT&T.  Then go in and change back to my old username and password.  I concluded that we were inside the modem making these changes, not in my account.

I did not return the router.  Instead, i used the reset button and read the installation instructions this time and I was good to go.

hope this helps.  Call the ISP a few more times.  BTW, i'm using IE-7 build and never have probs.

I've seen this before but never got it fixed. So these type of microsoft
problems had me switch over to firefox. Haven't had a problem since.

My friend has been using Win2Kpro for about a year. Suddenly last Friday
when she
wanted to get on the internet with IE, she could not access the internet!!
I conacted her ISP and the tech said that he got into the computer and
couldn''t find anything wrong with
her wifi and modem! So I got a new hard drive and I put XPpro into it and
the same problem. We did get an HTTP error 403.1 Now she is using FIREFOX to
get out.
Has anyone seen this happen??
