Hi Ian

How do you see what's in these folders if their content
is invisible? (You did recommend that we look into them.)

For example, I just cleared my Temporary Files folder and
inside this folder I now see only 31 cookies (all for sites
that I have to logon to.) All the cached files appear to be
gone. (Also, the recycle bin is empty...if it matters.) BUT...
the size of my Temporary Internet Files folder is 54.4 MB...
and I don't see 31 cookies taking up 54 MB.

I do have all my system files visible (explorer is set to
show all files).

Regards,
Bill
