According to the McAfee site, they updated their DAT virus database on 5/19
to remove the proxy-oss.dll virus. They first added it to their virus
dictionary on 4/21.

The way a virus can get in undetected by your McAfee VirusScan is if you
are one of the first to get the virus, McAfee will not have added it to
their DAT file and distributed it yet. That's a good reason to do a full
disk scan after downloading a new DAT file.

You are doing almost all you can do with a virus scan kept up to date and
not opening attachments. Also running a firewall and keeping up to date on
Security patches as they are released by Microsoft is the other thing to
do. The Sassar worm did not require an attachment to be opened to spread,
if the machine was not behind a firewall and a certain Windows security
patch had not been installed.
