Check to see if the "Leave copy on server" option is checked in your e-mail
server configuration. If it is, then your e-mail stays on the server even
when you download it. How you get to this option depends on your e-mail
client. In Outlook it is in Tools\Accounts\Change\MoreSettings\Advanced.
