I'm at a loss to understand your problem completely. Are you in Internet
Explorer when it saves as an art file?  If so try right clicking on the
image and select "save picture as" and choose from available file types.  I
think the ".art" format is by AOL so AOL is probably the culpret! My
suggestion: Get rid of the AOL setting that is making .art the default or
contact AOL for help.

I use ACDSee  (by ACD Systems) which has the ability to view & use .art
format files. This program costs $$$ but is the best. IrfranView (that you
have) should work too and it's free.
