Well Doug, I guess we're both stumped on this one. I checked manually both
locations you suggested then I did a "find" and it searched and found the same two
locations.  They both say "default  no value set".  This is weird! I am no stranger
to the Win95 registry.  In fact I just cleaned up (using Cleansweep 4.01)  about
200 entries that had accumulated over the past 3 1/2 years or so. But I sure can't
find this one!  I guess maybe i'll have to wade through the MS site sometime when I
have a few hours (days?) to kill.
