You could try setting your monitor resolution higher.  This will pack more
into your screen, though everything on your desktop will now appear
smaller.  Usual resolution for a 15" monitor is 800x600.  Perhaps yours is
set to 640x480.

To reset screen resolution (depending which Winxx you are using) right
click desktop, select Properties, go to Settings and adjust Desktop
Area.  Apply and OK your way out.

If that fixes the problem, but now your desktop icons seem too small, you
can go back to Desktop Properties, and this time select Appearance and set
icon size to larger icons.

A few highly specialised websites might be designed specifically for larger
monitors running at high resolutions, though that would be very uncommon.
