Can you give us some more information?  What is your operating system?  The
DOS  procedure you wrote about is fine if you have Windows 1 - 3.1, but
there are far easier ways to do this with Windows 95-98.   How did these
files become missing?  How did you notice the files were missing, is it
possible you have a virus?
