Karen;
I have had the same problem on 2 computers now. And, I found that it was
not only the winzip .exe that didn't work, it eventually started to happen
on all the zipped .exe files I had. After much thought, I checked the
drives with F-Prot and found the virus WIN95_CH.003 virus on both systems.
I cleaned the drives with F-Prot from a clean DOS boot prompt, downloaded
the files again, and they worked just fine.
It is worth noting that I did have 2 other virus software packages that ran
from within Win95, and neither of them picked it up. I thought I was
well-protected with the one scanner running inside Win95, but I'm now
checking my system daily with F-Prot, booting to the "Command Prompt Only",
just to be sure!
