Please explain what you are doing when you say "insert lines" - are you
creating a table? Do you know any HTML code? If you know even the basics,
many problems can be identified and fixed by looking at the HTML code in
Front Page (or even a text editor).

Inserting a paragraph should have no effect on the formatting of the lines
below. If you use a <br> tag, however, then things don't work quite the same
way. In the edit view, you can insert a <br> tag by pressing shift-enter.
