George and Mary,

To the best of my knowledge, Excite does not provide
POP3 access to their mail. The only way to retrieve
mail on Excite is through it web-based interface.
Hence, the problem with retrieving the mail in a POP,
IMAP, SMTP-based client like OE, Netscape Mail or
Eudora.
