The easiest way to handle FF favorites is with Mozbackup (Works with
Thunderbird also)
http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/
In Win7: C:\Users\User
Namne\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\p6352rv4.default
XP is similar, but in Docs and Settings.
FF crashes are almost always caused by add-ons, so you could try
starting it in safe mode from the program menu and disabling them.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Where are my firefox favorites? Passwords, too.

OK, I have been having serious problems with Firefox crashing and now it
is crashing if I just try to open it. I have been having some serious
computer problems but Firefox crashed when I use it at the library, too,
so I can't put all of this on my computer.

At any rate, because I cannot bring up Firefox I want to uninstall and
reinstall but want to make sure my favorites don't get lost in the
shuffle. Would like to keep those passwords, too, if possible.

So, what file(s) do I need to copy/duplicate/rename, etc. so I can
recover favorites and passwords when I uninstall and reinstall?

Bruce
