If the other list member's advice doesn't help, you might try changing the file extension to .bmp,
.jpg, .tif, or any other image type. If you attempt this, you'll get a warning to the effect of
"File may become un-readable", so I would suggest *first* saving the file, in its present format, in
a temp folder somewhere. There's no way of knowing if this method will work, but it's worth a try,
and it shouldn't do any harm. If it doesn't work, delete the new file, and you'll still have a copy
of if in your temp location. Good luck.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Picture format


I was sent a picture with a .max extension.  I tried to view it using Irfranview and Paint Shop Pro
neither of which recognizes the format.  Can anyone tell me what viewer would recognize this format
and how I would view it.
